I have tested WordPressChess on iPad now(both on Wordpresschess.com) and on your site.

I cannot find any problems with it. I tried both tactics and the game viewer. I will do another test with an iPhone later tonight.

I'm doing the development on Mac, and have tested it in IOS simulator(Simulator of iPad, iPhone) and it works perfectly there.

I will do some testing on a real iPhone later today and fix eventual problems.

I will address this issue today. I have hidden the coordinates on mobile devices, but it's best as you say to show them, but probably inside the squares to save space.

You want to be able to build your own theme? i.e. decide which colors/background image to use on white squares, black squares etc?

It's absolutely a good idea, since that's how most of the other chess program works. I will put it on my todo list
